In 2025, the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) celebrates the 40th anniversary of its official inauguration, which took place in 1985. The IAC manages the Canary Islands Observatories (OCAN), which are part of the ICTS within the Spanish Astronomy Infrastructure Network (RIA).
