27th March 2020, SEA Board release
In view of the current situation, the Board of SEA, in agreement with the Local and Scientific Organizing Committees has taken the decision of cancelling the face-to-face celebration of the XIV Scientific Meeting, scheduled for the week 13-17 July 2020.
This decision is accompanied by a set of alternatives, focused on keeping the dynamics of contacts and joint activities promoted by SEA. We want to contribute with our effort to go back to a normal situation, science can and must have a relevant role in this endeavour.
The Board of SEA and the Committees are already working to hold our encounter online during that week of July, when we should be together in La Laguna. We will intend to program by streaming some plenary talks, virtual group meetings and other activities. We will hold the General Assembly and we will announce the SEA2020 PhD Thesis Prize. We are also working to re-schedule the ‘face-to-face’ Scientific Meeting for next year..
We would like to thank all of you who have submitted abstracts for your effort and interest. We will encourage you to do it again when we retake the organization of the next face-to-face Scientific Meeting.
We are working with the Scientific Committee to shape the programme of the virtual meeting.
In a few weeks we will go back to you to provide further information.
