Deadline: 04/10/2011

  • Description: Spanish guarantee time at CAHA

A call for proposals for the Spanish guarantee time at the 2.2m and 3.5m telescopes of the German-Spanish Astronomical Center (CAHA) at Calar Alto has been released.

26 nights aer availabe during the first semester of 2012.

The application deadline is October, 4th at 23:59.

The proposals have to be presented through the official CAHA website, (see link below).

The Principal Investigator and at least half of the team should belong to a Spanish Institution.

This call for proposals is meant to help projects that require a moderate or large number of observing nights and that have different goals than the projects submitted to the open time. Proposals will be evaluated by a committee designed by the director of the IAA. This committee will take into account the scientific quatility of the project and its feasibility at CAHA. The decision will be sent to the principal investigator.

The proposals of on-going projects have to be sent by the mentioned procedure, including the results obtained so far in the “Long Term Project” section and an estimation of nights that will be required in the next semesters. Any other information that might help the evaluation can be attached to the proposal.
