European Space Agency

ESA is an international organisation with 20 Member States. By coordinating the financial and intellectual resources of its members, it can undertake programmes and activities far beyond the scope of any single European country.
The RIA Advisor Group to ESA Scientific Programme has as a goal to optimize, by coordinating and advising, the Spanish participation in the ESA Scientific Programme. The Science missions included in this Programme are the following:

Operations (10): Rosetta, Herschel, HST, Cluster, SOHO, Mars y Venus Express, XMM-Newton, Integral y Planck.
Implementation (6): GAIA, October 2013; Lisa PF, middle 2015; BepiColombo, 2016; JWST, 2018; Solar Orbiter (M1), 2017; EUCLID (M2), 2019.
Future Missions (ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015-2025): JUICE (L1), 2022; M3 candidate missions: PLATO, ECHO, LOFT, Marco Polo R and STE-QUEST; L2/L3 (2028/2034); CHEOPS (S1 mission), 2017.
